There are some keys that have “Do Not Duplicate” marked on them.Why?

Our professional locksmith says that unless you have a written letter of authority to have the keys marked with “Do Not Duplicate” duplicated, your local locksmith will not make a copy of the key because they are restricted to do so.

What is a transponder?

A transponder is a chip that is located inside the head of a car key. What it does is communicate with a reader on the ignition that immobilizes the vehicle as a security measure. This provides better security on the vehicle as it wouldn't be able to start unless the correct key is used.
